Welcome to Alta Vista Public School! We are home to over 655 students and are a very close knit school community. We serve students in the Alta Vista community and have both English and Early French Immersion programs. We also host a Learning Disabilities Specialized Intervention Program (LD-SIP - Junior and Intermediate). Alta Vista is a storied school, having served the community since 1947.
We believe we offer not only an excellent academic experience but an opportunity for children to develop strength in character. Our students embody the OCDSB Exit Outcomes and Character Traits that will serve them well throughout their lives. Alta Vista students are diverse, caring and friendly, and welcome new students regularly. We work to ensure that our students are lifelong learners, finding their strengths and passions to promote a fulfilled life. We also promote independence, responsibility and a healthy lifestyle.
Keeping open communication between home and school is a priority for our whole school community. Follow this website for updates about school life and be sure to visit our School Council's website for updates from our parent community.
Check our Teams and Clubs page for more information on how students can get involved in their school.
The staff at Alta Vista is committed to providing the best quality education for each student. We look forward to working with you to help your child become the best version of themselves. Should you have any questions, concerns, or wish to reach out to the school, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher or your admin team. We are here to help and support.
